Vamizi Island Lodge is to be refurbished
Our six luxury Private Villas remain open for guests

From 7 January 2015 Vamizi Island’s Lodge and Kitalas will be closing until further notice for refurbishment.  The withdrawal of regular airline operations in Pemba and the government closure of Mocimboa da Praia as an international airport mean that we are temporarily unable to offer a scheduled flight to the island.  Whilst these aviation uncertainties endure, Vamizi Island is taking the opportunity to approach architects and operators  with whom we will work to develop and re-launch a new and improved luxurious 5* Lodge.

Vamizi Island is delighted to announce that , in the meantime, the six stunning Private Villas (two new villas have just joined our portfolio)  will continue to operate as usual, accessible by private charter.  Each Private Villa, uniquely designed in its own elegant style with en-suite bedrooms, spectacular drawing and dining rooms, and peaceful lounging spaces around private pools or the beach, comes staffed with its own hospitality team including a private chef, host and driver.

All of Vamizi’s activities, including diving, fishing and wellness treatments, are available to our Private Villa guests, as are our castaway picnics, romantic dinners and dhow cruises.  Our conservation team will be available for guided nature walks, talks and community visits.  Sunset cocktail evenings on the beach and at our stunning Muntu Nkulu beach bar will offer guests the chance to meet and get together to discuss the adventures of their day.

Our Island Managers, Ellie and Hamish Norris, will remain at the helm.
