How To Get To Vamizi

International Flights:

Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) and Pemba (Mozambique) are the most convenient destinations from which to access Vamizi. There are direct international flights from Europe, the Middle East and other parts of East Africa into Dar es Salaam. Pemba is served by direct and regular flights from Johannesburg and Maputo.  In turn Johannesburg is well connected to the safari networks of Southern Africa. Private Charter to Vamizi:

Vamizi Island is accessible by private charter. Please note that there is a strict 15kg luggage allowance per passenger, which must be packaged in soft bags (This does not include a small handbag or laptop bag).

The flight time from Dar es Salaam to Vamizi Island is approximately 4 hours. This includes a stop at Pemba to clear Immigration and Customs. Please note that the plane will also touch down at Pemba on the return journey to Dar es Salaam. The journey from Pemba to Vamizi Island is a 45 minute scenic flight over the Quirimbas Archipelago.

Arrival on the Island: You will be met at the airstrip by one of Vamizi Island’s 4 x 4 vehicles and transferred to the Private Villas by forest road. Please be aware that this can be bumpy due to the uneven coral surface. Transfers take between 25 and 45 minutes.
